SPEEDWAY NEWS - 31 DECEMBER
31 December 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 POPULAR German rider Christian Hefenbrock is on the verge of joining a new club. Hefenbrock was a big hit in his debut season with Wolverhampton and misses out because of the points limit. Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: ''He''s talking to other Elite League clubs and I would like to think we haven''t seen the last of him in Wolverhampton colours. It was an agonising decision.'' SPEEDWAY 2 COVENTRY skipper Scott Nicholls believes his winter racing trip to Australia is the perfect preparation for next season. The Great Britain Grand Prix star is set to jet out for a month down under before returning in good time for the new British campaign in March. ''It''s perfect for me, it beats any other sort of winter training and I get some sunshine on my back at the same time,'' said Nicholls.
