POPULAR German rider Christian Hefenbrock is on the verge of joining a new club.

Hefenbrock was a big hit in his debut season with Wolverhampton and misses out because of the points limit.

Wolves owner Chris Van Straaten said: ''He''s talking to other Elite League clubs and I would like to think we haven''t seen the last of him in Wolverhampton colours. It was an agonising decision.''

COVENTRY skipper Scott Nicholls believes his winter racing trip to Australia is the perfect preparation for next season.

The Great Britain Grand Prix star is set to jet out for a month down under before returning in good time for the new British campaign in March.

''It''s perfect for me, it beats any other sort of winter training and I get some sunshine on my back at the same time,'' said Nicholls.
