SPEEDWAY 1 WOLVERHAMPTON owner Chris Van Straaten is to hold talks with Mikael Max in Stockholm on Monday. The former Grand Prix star is concerned about the poor form he suffered on his comeback from injury on loan to Arena-Essex last season. Said Van Straaten: ''Mikael''s very down about his form last season and we''ll have a chat to see how he wants to handle things from here.'' SPEEDWAY 2 BIRMINGHAM have completed the signing of youngster Lee Smart on loan from Somerset - with a view to a permanent deal. Smart joins Jason Lyons, Brent Werner, Ulrich Ostergaard, Emiliano Sanchez and Ben Powell as a confirmed starter with one more to follow. Brummies boss Graham Drury said: ''Lee is a good lad, I''ve seen him ride a lot and I have faith in his ability, he can do a good job for us.''
