WOLVERHAMPTON have completed the signing of Theo Pijper from Second Division Edinburgh. Pijper, 26, has had five good seasons with the Scottish club but now feels the time is right for a move into the top flight. He''s agreed to move from his Scottish base to be within an hour of the Black Country track as part of the deal. Wolverhampton owner Chris Van Straaten said: ''As soon as we started our discussions I made it clear I wanted Theo to relocate and he readily agreed to it. ''He''s a good rider who can do a good job for us in the lower order. He''s up for the challenge and, with my Dutch family history, the move also carries a little emotion for me.'' As part of the arrangement, Wolverhampton legend Ronnie Correy has joined the Scottish side on loan for next season. Correy, based in Cheltenham, will fly to Armadale meetings on a Friday and is expected to be a big hit with Monarchs fans. Van Straaten said: ''I believe Ronnie can be a revelation around Edinburgh. He goes with our very best wishes and we''ll be watching his scores with great interest.'' THEO PIJPER Date of Birth: February 11, 1980, Dokkum, Holland. British Career Record: Edinburgh 2002-2006 Wolverhampton 2007 DECIDED to take the plunge into the Elite League at the age of 27 after a successful five-season spell with Edinburgh. Theo is a specialist on the Grass Track and Long Track scene but has a burning ambition to succeed at the top level of British racing. As with many Premier League riders, he was handed he chance to impress in Wolverhampton''s Olympique individual event in 2006 and immediately told Chris Van Straaten he fancied a shot at the big-time. Won the Premier League alongside another Wolves man, Magnus Karlsson, with the Monarchs in 2003 and in the same year fell at the final hurdle in a brave bid for a Grand Prix place.
