GET A GRIP
20 December 2006 - Oxford Products Ltd.

It’s that time of the year again, when bikers realise the virtues of heated grips and sales of Oxford HotGrips go through the roof.

Oxford HotGrips have long been the benchmark for quality heated grips in the UK and around the world and OXFORD continues to lead the way in terms of grip technology. Their unique moulded construction enables them to reach the very high temperatures demanded by the extreme wind chill and heat dissipation incurred while riding. It also makes them the most reliable in the marketplace today.

Previously, this heat was controlled by a simple potentiometer rotating switch – like a light dimmer. This was necessarily bulky to cope with the juice on offer from the grips. The new switch is much slimmer, operates on UP/DOWN buttons and has lights which indicate the heat level!

Furthermore, some people used to leave their switches turned on by mistake and end up flattening their battery. So, this new switch will not turn on any power to the grips if the bike engine is not running. When you have finished riding your motor bike and you switch off, the switch will also turn itself off a short time afterwards to ensure that the battery doesn’t get flattened.

The switch is available as a spare item on its own, so anyone who already has heated grips on their bike can upgrade!
