FEATURES AND BENEFITS:

ENGINE

High performance 2-stroke engine

The cylinder head has a narrow squish band for increased top-end power. The crankshaft is shaped to reduce turbulence in the crankcase and increase primary compression. The bridges between the intake and exhaust ports are machined for better seizure resistance.

Kawasaki Integrated Powervalve System

KIPS varies the exhaust port height to broaden the useful rpm range for good low and mid-range without sacrificing top-end power.

Fuel system

The 28 mm Keihin PWK carburettor helps boost mid-range and top-end power using a crescent shaped slide to enable the needle to sit closer to the intake ports for quicker throttle response.

Large bores in the front and back of the carburetor and a smooth shape boost flow for more mid-range and top-end power. The right side of the air box is cut back to increase and accept air flow from behind the number board and a large diameter boot from the air box to the carburettor improves air flow.

TRANSMISSION

Clutch

The right hand engine cover provides a separate clutch cover for quick servicing without removing the water pump.

6-speed transmission

The ends of the shift forks are hard-chrome finished for durability.

CHASSIS

High-tensile steel perimeter frame

High tensile steel perimeter frame provides excellent rigidity and torsional strength. The fuel tank carries its fuel load low in the frame to improve handling and make the bike feel lighter. The footpegs are wide for excellent control, made of cast steel for strength, and use a 10 mm pivot for durability.

Inverted 36 mm front fork

Inverted forks are more rigid, providing better steering response and control. Front fork settings provide a progressive ride to better resist bottoming and suit larger and more aggressive riders.

Compression damping is 18-way adjustable and the cartridge design means better action and more consistent damping. The huge aluminium upper fork tubes measure 49.5 mm in diameter for flex free performance.

Uni-Trak ® rear suspension

The bottom link design keeps the weight low for a lower centre of gravity, which makes the bike feel lighter and easier to handle. Rear suspension settings provide a progressive ride to better resist bottoming and accommodate larger, more aggressive riders.

Front and rear disc brakes

A single 220 mm front disc with dual piston caliper and single 184 mm rear disc with single piston caliper ensure excellent stopping power and feel.
