12 December 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 ANDREAS Bergstrom is on his way back to Berwick next season. The Swede joins Michal Makovsky, Jacek Rempala, Stanislaw Burza and Benji Compton as confirmed starters for the Bandits. Bandits boss Peter Waite said: ''Andreas has said he''s desperately hungry for success with us in 2007. He has told us that from the start of our negotiations and that''s exactly the attitude I''m wanting from all my riders.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SHEFFIELD have confirmed the signing of James Cockle - after almost giving up on him. The London-born rider was close to agreeing terms with potential new owner at Mildenhall who bettered Sheffield''s offer. Tigers owner Neil Machin said: ''I like his style and he is now very enthusiastic about riding for us. The team is shaping up nicely and I expect to be able to confirm the rest of the team shortly.''
