PARTNERSHIP FOR KAWASAKI MOTORS UK
15 December 2006 - Kawasaki Racing

Kawasaki Motors UK has announced their plans for team support in the 2007 British Superbike Championship.

As part of an overall marketing strategy, they will be supporting MSS Discovery as their official factory entry in both the Superbike and Supersport Championships.

The Supersport Championship team will again feature Kieran Murphy and another, yet to be announced rider, while the assault on the Superbike Championship will be mounted by a single rider entry for this year.

Nick Morgan, Team Principle of MSS Discovery explained, “As this is our first year as partner to KMUK we knew we needed to run what you might call a premier league rider and someone who could help us develop the ZX-10R quickly and give maximum feedback. After that, the story just kind of wrote itself and we only had one rider in mind, Michael Rutter,” said Nick Morgan.

“Michael was up for it from the start, he likes the idea of being a vital component of the effort and, to be honest, is relishing the chance to get back among the top men in Superbikes and cause a few upsets. As a development rider and on-track thinker he has no equal in my opinion”.

The last word goes to new signing, Michael Rutter. “To have a team built round you is every riders dream and everyone I have spoken to all rate Nick and want him to succeed in Superbikes. Add to that the fact that I have some serious unfinished business in this championship, and I think it becomes obvious that the arrival of MSS Discovery Kawasaki in Superbikes will make it yet another classic racing season.”
