HOWE IS BACK!
06 December 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

WOLVERHAMPTON promoter Chris Van Straaten has confirmed that a deal has been agreed with David Howe to bring the club asset back to Monmore Green next season.

Howe was left out of the team in 2006 under the reduced points limit and returns on a 5.44 average after a mixed season on loan at Oxford.

Van Straaten said: ''My priority is still to agree terms with the top three from last season, but whichever way you look at it the prospect of David being paired with any of those three is an exciting one.
''He is an accomplished fast gater and I could see that partnership collecting plenty of 5-1s next year.

''David did have some thoughts of dropping out of the Elite League, but I feel that would have been an absolute travesty. People forget he is still just 24, he has plenty to offer and we are delighted to welcome him back.

''As a nation we need to have British riders in the top division. David slipped back on the ladder last season but he hasn''t come off it, and we''re sure we can get him climbing it once again.''
