SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 16.10.04
16 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

LONG serving Belle Vue boss John Perrin wants to make a low profile exit from the club at the end of the month.

Perrin, who helped save the Aces by moving them to Kirkmanshulme Lane in 1988, will stage his final meeting against Peterborough on Monday. He said: ''I''ll not be giving any big interviews or speeches for the time being. I want to slip away into the distance and gather my thoughts.''

AUSTRALIAN youngster Karlis Ezergalis could be set for a Premier League team place with Newport next season. Ezergalis has impressed club owner Tim Stone since joining the club''s Conference League team after some successful trials at the Hayley Stadium. Stone said: ''The youth policy at Newport is paying dividends. Karlis has benefited from it in his debut year and we will be keeping tabs on him throughout the winter.''
