SPEEDWAY 1

READING have completed the signings of Matej Zagar and former favourite Danny Bird for next season''s Elite League campaign.

In addition, the Bulldogs have announced that the majority of their home fixtures in 2007 will take place on Fridays.

Co-promoter Jim Lynch said: ''We have a team in mind that we want, and every member of that team is being spoken to.''

SPEEDWAY 2

SOMERSET have just one place to fill in their team for next year after signing Simon Walker and Danny Warwick.

Walker was a popular member of the 2006 Rebels line-up whilst Warwick joins after impressing at Berwick last season.

Promoter Mike Golding said: ''Simon''s improvement was amazing last year whilst Danny is an exciting rider who is relishing a new challenge.''

SPEEDWAY 3

NEWCASTLE have confirmed the return of Josef ''Pepe'' Franc to Brough Park for a third season with the Diamonds.

The Czech star joins Christian Henry as a definite starter, and Franc is also keen to make some appearances in the Elite League.

Co-promoter George English said: ''Keeping Pepe and Christian on board gives us two popular faces from the last couple of seasons and both can improve further.''
