AND ANOTHER TITLE TO APRILIA
01 December 2006 - Aprilia
The domination of Supermoto racing and the relentless collection of Supermoto titles goes on and on for the Aprilia SXV machines.
Following the capture of the World S2 rider and manufacturer’s championships with French ace Thierry van den Bosch plus the MotoGB British S1 and Open series wins garnered by Sam Warren on his SR Racing SXV550; last week saw the addition of another significant and hard fought win. Keith Farmer, the 19 year old Ulsterman had recently swapped his Husaberg for a new SMR/Rocket Centre SXV 450 Aprilia, just in time to contest the 2006 P&O Irish Supermoto Championship. Despite some crashes, punctures and little familiarity with his new mount he battled throughout the 3 rounds to eventually dominate, taking the title comfortably from fellow Irishman David McKee on his Yamaha and English rider Carl Shield mounted on a Husqvarna. Apart from the prestige of winning a particularly tough series, Farmer wins himself a test ride to compete for an Aprilia UK sponsored ride in the MotoGB and ACU British championships for 2007.
