30 November 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway
PETER Adams, the most successful manager in speedway history, has agreed a new deal to stay with his beloved Wolverhampton. Adams, who has won three league titles with the Monmore club, will also continue as co-promoter alongside club owner Chris Van Straaten. Said Van Straaten: ''There is no better man for the job that Peter and I would like to think we will be side-by-side at Monmore Green for as long as I am there. ''The continuation of Peter as team manager is just as important as any signing we make this winter and his enthusiasm is as strong as it ever has been. ''His record speaks for itself. The fact that we were in contention for a play-off place for so long last season was because of him, the riders would have given up long before had it not been for Peter''s guidance and the belief he put into them. ''Everyone knows he is the most successful team manager in the history of our great sport and he has the respect of everyone within the club.'' PETER ADAMS LEAGUE TITLES: Coventry (1978, 1979), Cradley Heath (1981, 1983), Wolverhampton (1991, 1996, 2002).
