2006-’07 TOYOTA AMA ARENACROSS SERIES ATTENDANCE FIGURES RISE SIGNIFICANTLY RENO ON TRACK FOR RECORD CROWD THIS WEEKEND
17 November 2006 - AMA Pro Racing

Officials at Live Nation are pleased to announce that attendance figures for the 2006’-07 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series are up from last year, in addition to the record pro and amateur rider turnout the series is enjoying thus far.

“The field is stacked with both young and old talent from top to bottom and the racing has been incredible in each of the first two rounds,” said Todd Jendro, senior director of two-wheel operations, Live Nation. “Arenacross fans are embracing this superb talent which has been evident by the strong crowds at the first two events in Des Moines and Albany. We’re anticipating a record crowd in Reno this weekend – featuring the most competitive field the Livestock Events Center has ever witnessed in the 15 years of racing arenacross there.”

The Albany (N.Y.) Pepsi Center series stop has enjoyed the largest growth in attendance from the previous year – up nearly 2,000 fans over the two days of racing (14,417 in 2005 to 16,221 this past weekend). Des Moines showed a healthy attendance increase as well (up 2%) with fans from all over the region attending the second Toyota AMA Arenacross Series race in the new Wells Fargo Arena’s history.

“I’m telling you, there’s been an electricity in the crowd that I haven’t seen in some time,” said longtime Toyota AMA Arenacross Series announcer Tim Cotter. “The field of pro racers is so deep – in both the AMA Arenacross class and AMA Arenacross Lites class – that fans are witnessing racers going for broke in the qualifiers, and heats and semis just to make the main, rather than just going through the motions to get in. The racing is as good as I’ve ever seen it and it’s showing at the gate with attendance.”

Added points leader Danny Smith (TUF Racing) at Des Moines: “I raced arenacross before, but didn’t expect the crowd to be as big as it was and, especially, as into the racing as they were. I mean, there were a lot of top guys here. I think we were all surprised with the level of talent and the turnout. And that will continue to make for great racing, which will keep the fans coming out.”

Tickets available at the Reno Livestock Events Center Box Office, Silver Legacy Casino or charge by phone 775-787-TIXS. All seats $2 more the day of the event.

Fans are encouraged to attend the Saturday, Nov. 18th Reno Toyota AMA Arenacross Series Track Party for FREE from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. by bringing three canned goods to the Reno Livestock Events Center.
