WIN FOR CAIROLI AT MOTOLIVE
18 November 2006 - Moto Live

European Super Cross: Tony Cairoli wins at MotoLive

The MotoLive outdoor arena at the EICMA Milan show is a huge success: young pilots, fathers with their wives and children have packed the circuits watching the stunts and skills of every motorbike racing discipline.

There is something for everyone but the centre point during Friday’s show was the second round of the European Super Cross competition introduced for the first time this year by the International Motorcyclists Federation.

The stars of the show included Tony Cairoli, the MX2 2005 world champion and 2006 vice champion. “It’s a very technical track but at the same time very spectacular. I’m having great fun and I hope I’m entertaining the huge crowds,” he said.

In the future Cairoli is planning to take on the best American pilots: “I’m going to race in Italy in 2007 but then try my hand in the USA Supercross circuit. The Americans have two arms and two legs like all of us. The important thing is to work hard and the right racing skills and style.”

Angelo Pellegrini of Suzuki is a European champion. He won MotoLive last year and this year he was cheered for his overtaking. “The track and the cheers of the crowd help me race well. It’s always special at MotoLive.”

His big rival was Davide Degli Esposti, the 2006 Italian champion and his big rival Alex Cinelli of the Royal Pat team.

At the end the second place went to the American Ryan Mills and the third to the French biker Pierre Renet.

After racing hard at MotoLive their next big race will be in Genoa on November 25 for the Super Cross Final.
