GHEDINA VISITS EICMA SHOW
18 November 2006 - EICMA Show
Ghedina hangs up his ski and climbs in a BMW
Kristian Ghedina was a ski racer for 20 years, descending at 130km/h. As a guest at the MotoLive outdoor arena he confirmed he is now ready to use his speed on four wheels. “I’m here because racing motorbikes is a bit like racing on skies. It’s pure adrenalin and that is the best thing about for me,” he says, speaking like a real pilot. Ghedina admits he would love to race on a cross bike on a snow descent and revealed he has a large collection of two-wheels, ranging from a mini moto, a Vespa, a motard and a BMW road tourer, the same company who will sponsor him next year in the Superturismo championships in 2007. He is determined to well behind the wheel as he was when descending on two skis and will have Alex Zanardi as a team mate. “He was the one who convinced me to race. I’ve still got to get used to racing a car but I’m excited about it. Braking is the hardest thing but he is determined to be successful on the race track after being successful on the downhill snow track.”
