DAY DREAMING AT THE EICMA SHOW
19 November 2006 - EICMA Show

A day at the show dreaming of the best bikes in the world

Not even a block of the Milan traffic due to smog restrictions could stop the stream of visitors to the final day of the 2006 EICMA show. A ray of sun makes the day even better and people enjoy the two-wheeled celebrations.

The show attracts people of all ages but the teenagers are the ones left most amazed by the new bikes even if they have to accept using a scooter for a while.

Alessia is a typical example. She has slowly visited all the halls, collecting leaflets and stickers and staring at all the new bikes for 2007. She admits she does not have any particular preference as long as it is safe to ride with her boyfriend Alex next summer.

They are both 20 and want to enjoy their life on two-wheels, they both want the freedom two-wheels offer without having to spend a fortune. They are future generation of the world of motorbikes.

Often worried parents forget about the days they rode motorbikes as teenagers and travelled in two on a scooter. Fortunately the show helps them remember their youth and combines teenage excitement with the desire for safety and comfort. The show combined very generation and gender, every culture and creed because there is nothing like feeling the wind in your face out on the open road.

The stunt men of the MotoLive outdoor arena seem suspended in the air. Everybody would like to know how they do it and what it feels like, just like we all would love to know how Valentino Rossi feels as he leans into a corner at 300km/h.

These are the emotions of a motorbike that everybody wants to feel and is the same reason why the gates of the Milan show are packed with crowds even if the show is coming to an end for another year.
