SPEEDWAY 1

BELLE Vue have started their 2007 team-building programme by agreeing a deal with Joe Screen.
Team boss Ian Thomas said: ''I''d had a preliminary chat with Joe about riding for us again next season before everything went on hold because of the proposed takeover.
''I called him as soon as the talks had been called off and we did a deal there and then. He still has a lot to offer.''

SPEEDWAY 2

BIRMINGHAM manager Graham Drury will make the trip to Coventry this weekend for British Speedway''s AGM - with only one thing on his mind.
''I never take anything for granted and the first priority is to be accepted into the Premier League,'' said Drury.
''I would like to think there will be no problem with this, I believe the arrival of Birmingham will be a massive boost for the sport.''
