END FISTULA
17 November 2006 - Triumph Motorcycles Ltd
TRIUMPH AND VIRGIN UNITE In aid of the Campaign to End Fistula
Iconic British motorcycle marque, Triumph Motorcycles has teamed up with the Virgin Group’s charitable arm, Virgin Unite and UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) to support a fundraising evening to help ‘End Fistula’. To support the event and the campaign, Triumph Motorcycles invited Virgin Group’s CEO, Sir Richard Branson to create an exclusive, one-off design for the largest production motorcycle in the world, the Triumph Rocket III. The result is a vibrant design using Virgin’s signature red and, through the use of the Union Jack, enforces both brands’ British heritage. The event will take place at Nobu Berkeley ST, London on 22 November and will be hosted by Natalie Imbruglia and Joan Branson with a special guest performance from chart topping singer / songwriter, KT Tunstall. During the evening, one of 200 celebrity and VIP guests will bid for the chance to ride away on the exclusive Rocket III worth in excess of £15,000. As a spokesperson for the fistula campaign and an ambassador for Virgin Unite, Natalie Imbruglia is helping to raise awareness and funds for this little-known childbearing condition. ''For some people, fistula is a difficult issue to talk about. But that discomfort pales in comparison to what women living with fistula face every day,'' Imbruglia says. ''I don''t want to be part of the silence. I want to do everything I can to make a difference in these women''s lives.''
The Triumph Rocket III is in a class of its own. The largest capacity production motorcycle in the world, this powerful cruiser features a 2.3 litre engine and combines classic beauty with unrivalled performance.
