PEUGEOT SHOWS THE OLDEST BIKE OF THE SHOW
16 November 2006 - Peugeot

EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan

The Peugeot stand is packed with scooter and then there is the queen of the 2006 Milan show: the Peugeot 7cv from 1905 that belongs to Vincenzo Florio. It is the oldest bike of the show.

In 1905 the Peugeot 7cv set a world record for the flying kilometre, setting a speed of 123,293km/h. The speed hit the headlines at the time and captured the attention of bike fans.

Vincenzo Florio was one of them and the well known pilot from Sicily went to Paris to buy one.

The two-cylinder with belt transmission developed 2HP but the sports model produced up to 7 and Florio bought that one. Even now it’s a jewel of a bike as the letters P.F. –Peugeot France on the carter confirm.
