NO LIMITS TO PIAGGIO’S FUTURE
15 November 2006 - Piaggio
Speaking at EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan CEO of Gruppo Piaggio Roberto Colaninno illustrated the company’s development plan in Milan with long-term international prospects.
“India, the USA and China, but also South Africa, Indonesia and Vietnam represent opportunities that we can’t miss. It’s a very demanding plan both economically and regarding human resources. The economic objectives are part of the plan created by director general Michele Pallottini. “The group has increased its client base and turnover has increased by 10% in every sector. Scooters have sold 6% more and motorbikes 25% more.” Daniele Bandiera, the director of Operations said the company was healthy. “The figures speak for themselves. There has been growth across the markets. More than 7% for the motorbikes and more than 30% for the light vehicles. Vespa, Gilera and Guzzi have all done well. The Guzzi eagle is flying again and we sold over 10,000units for the first time since 1983.”
