11 November 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 WORKINGTON owner Tony Mole hopes to have the club''s new manager installed by early next week. It would enable Graham Drury''s successor to represent the Comets at the BSPA''s AGM which starts in Coventry on Friday. Mole said: ''I will only announce the name of the new person when the deal is complete, and in the meantime I have been conducting talks with riders myself.'' SPEEDWAY 2 PAUL Pickering will undergo further surgery before Christmas as he continues to battle his way back to fitness. Pickering has been out for nearly two years with a serious arm injury but had some practice races at Stoke last month. He said: ''I am having an operation to release some tension in the elbow and forearm, and I am looking ahead positively.''
