ADAM Allott has announced his retirement after doctors warned him of the consequences should he suffer another back injury.

The Stoke Spitfires man, 23, crashed at Scunthorpe and has been wearing a neck and body brace since.

Said Allott: ''The doctors said the decision is mine but I can''t ignore that and will have to call it quits. A bone which is very close to the spinal cord is very weak.''

BELLE VUE could be under new ownership this weekend with negotiations reaching a conclusion.

Manchester businessman David Gordon has teamed up with Aces legend Chris Morton with a view to taking control from Tony Mole.

Mole said: ''The original deadline was Monday but that has now been extended and as far as I am concerned we already have a verbal agreement. A statement will be issued in due course.''
