SPEEDWAY 1 NEIL Machin has dropped a massive hint that he is set to stay at Sheffield. The Tigers co-owner travels to Coventry next week for the British Speedway AGM when he hopes to keep the bulk of last season''s team. Said Machin: ''There are things happening which mean I''ll stay, but I want to be able to sell the sport to potential new supporters and it''s difficult when I have to lose riders.'' SPEEDWAY 2 LEGENDARY six-times world champion Ivan Mauger will be one of many VIP guests at the reopening of Birmingham Brummies Speedway next March. Mauger will be at Perry Barr for the Alan Hunt Memorial meeting on Wednesday, March 14. ''Ivan was very pleased to see that Birmingham are making a return to the sport and he was only too happy to accept our invitation,'' said Brummies boss Graham Drury.
