SPEEDWAY NEWS - 2ND NOVEMBER
02 November 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 WORLD champion Jason Crump is to appear on popular BBC1 programme ''A Question Of Sport''. The Belle Vue man has recorded the programme to be broadcast on Friday, November 24, at 7pm. He figured in Ally McCoist''s team alongside Great Britain Rugby League star Paul Sculthorpe. In opposition were Matt Dawson, ex-footballer Gary McAllister and England''s Ashes winning cricket captain Michael Vaughan. SPEEDWAY 2 OXFORD co-promoter Aaron Lanney has revealed how he had no choice but to sell his financial interest in the club to Colin Horton. He said: ''The Elite League will be more competitive than ever next season and there are some big money people taking over clubs. I cannot compete with them. ''These people are joining the sport with one thing in mind, that''s instant success, but they also know they''ll have to pay for the best riders and I couldn''t do that.''
