EDWARDS FLIES INTO SHOW
30 October 2006 - International Motorcycle and Scooter Show

Fresh from the final round of the MotoGP World Championship in Valencia, Yamaha MotoGP rider Colin Edwards flew in to the UK to make a star appearance at the International Motorcycle and Scooter Show at the Birmingham NEC today.

Following the dramatic events in Valencia on Sunday in which his team-mate Valentino Rossi narrowly missed out on an eighth world title to Honda’s Nicky Hayden, Edwards arrived in Birmingham to meet fans and sign autographs.

While at the Show Edwards took time to check out Yamaha’s latest bike the YZF-R1, which was launched in the UK by Troy Corser on Press Day on Thursday, and is one of the most popular bikes at this year’s Show. Visitors were also delighted to catch Edwards being interviewed by BBC commentator Steve Parrish on the Blackhorse Stage in the Arai Race Paddock and many were able to get up close to their hero during his signing session on the Yamaha stand.

Finlay McAllan, Managing Director of the NEC Bike Show organisers, MCI Exhibitions commented “Its always great to have big name stars attending the Show but to have Colin Edwards visit straight from Valencia after one of the most exciting MotoGP seasons ever was really fantastic. Fans were delighted to be able to meet their hero and get his autograph. ”

Tickets are still available to purchase at the Show. Standard ticket prices are £15 for adults, £13 for students, £5 for senior citizens and children between eleven and sixteen, and £35 for a family ticket. Children under the age of eleven are admitted for free
