CELEBRITIES ENJOY THE VESPA RIDE
30 October 2006 - Piaggio

Jay Kay Adds Vintage Vespa Scooter to Fleet

Jay Kay, Jamiroquai front-man and the ultimate Space Cowboy with over 20 million albums under his hat, has added a new prize possession to his well-publicised fleet of motor vehicles - the new Vespa Vintage GTV 250 scooter. Jay Kay joins a host of other celebrity Vespa riders including Gwyneth Paltrow, Stella McCartney and Johnny Borrell, Razorlight front-man.

The new, retro Vespa Vintage range has been launched to commemorate Vespa’s 60th birthday and includes the LXV and GTV, based on the popular LX and GTS models. To further emphasise his appreciation of Vespa, Jay Kay also owns the limited edition Vespa GT60, with only 999 in the collection worldwide.

The Vespa LXV (available in 50cc and125cc) and Vespa GTV (available in 125cc and 250cc) are both painted in classic Avio Grey, based on the original prototype design. Both models combine eye-catching traditional features with the convenience and quality of a 21st century scooter. The truly retro design includes a rounded headlamp on the front wheel, a naked handlebar and a separated double seat.

Whether Jay Kay is taking advantage of the open, country roads near his home in Buckinghamshire or escaping the congestion charge near his home in Westminster, the new Vespa Vintage range is the perfect travel companion and is sure to turn heads wherever he goes.

To join Jay Kay in the style ranks and take advantage of this stylish scooter AND to get your hands on a FREE copy of Vespa, a book by Valerie Boni, simply visit your local Vespa dealer now. The OTR prices for the scooters are: LXV 50cc £2399, LXV 125 £2999, GTV 125 £3399 and GTV 250 £3999. All Vespa Vintage scooters come with a two-year warranty and one-year’s roadside assistance (for models over 50cc).

Getting onto two wheels couldn’t be easier - all you need is a valid driving licence (provisional or full) and to complete just one day''s Compulsory Basic Training if you passed your driving test before February 2001.
