The final batch of classic British-made Cromwell motorcycle helmets has been transferred to Hitchcock''s motorcycles, the brand''s official distributor for the classic market.
UK production of Cromwell motorcycle helmets ceased in July 2004, following the decision of its parent company to concentrate on the manufacture of their world-leading military aircrew, fire-fighter, and powered respirators There are approximately 600 helmets in the batch, of the Classic and Spectra model types. These are open face style helmets with fibreglass shells and all conforming to current safety standards. Licensed production of Cromwell motorcycle helmets has been transferred to a specialist factory in Italy. Their production facility combines the latest hi-tech manufacturing processes, utilising materials such as carbon and composites, with traditional craftsmanship, like hand-stitched leather. They currently manufacture products for high profile brands including Belstaff and fashion houses Laura Smith, Trussardi and even Gucci.
