SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 12.10.04
12 October 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

POOLE demolished Wolverhampton 63-30 to retain the Elite League crown in front of a massive crowd at Wimborne Road.

Danish Grand Prix star Bjarne Pedersen top scored with 12 in a solid all-round team performance when every Poole rider won at least one race. Teenager Fredrik Lindgren was head and shoulders above his Wolves colleagues with 12 – including a retirement after dropping a chain when in a scoring position.

MAGNUS Zetterstrom was an emotional man after helping Poole lift the Elite League crown. He said: “I’ve been a member of this club for nine-years and this is a brilliant feeling for me, I can’t believe it. I feel very emotional about it all. “The team spirit has been brilliant and the fans were superb, this is a wonderful achievement and now for the Knockout Cup against Ipswich!”

NEW World Champion Jason Crump has confirmed he will be riding in Leigh Lanham’s testimonial meeting at Arena Essex on Friday. A delighted Lanham said: “I am really looking forward to my Testimonial meeting and the Arena-Essex Raceway is the place where I always wanted to celebrate my big day. “When Jason (Crump) confirmed that he would take part that really was the icing on the cake.”
