SPEEDWAY 1 POOLE claimed the final silverware of the Elite League season by winning the Craven Shield in front of their home fans on Thursday. The Pirates had to be content with second place to Eastbourne on the night, but they finished with a nine-point aggregate win over the Eagles and Coventry. Bjarne Pedersen, with a 12-point maximum, and Krzysztof Kasprzak (11) were the Poole heroes, and Nicki Pedersen was unbeaten for Eastbourne. SPEEDWAY 2 SHEFFIELD will take a 15-point advantage to King''s Lynn for the second leg of the Premier League Play-Off Final after a dramatic finish at Owlerton. The Tigers trailed by one point with just four heats to go, but then produced a run of four consecutive 5-1s. Sheffield skipper Andre Compton said: ''We had a few problems early on, but we came through and I am happy to have a 15-point lead.''
