SPEEDWAY 1

POOLE and Coventry go into the deciding leg of the Craven Shield Final level on points after the Bees won at Eastbourne on Tuesday.

But the Pirates are still favourites for the silverware as they stage the decider at their home Wimborne Road circuit.

Coventry and Poole both have 76 points after two legs, with Eastbourne twelve behind on 64 despite Eagles'' Nicki Pedersen scoring a 12-point maximum at Arlington.

SPEEDWAY 2

WORLD Champion Jason Crump was named the Elite League Rider of the Year at the Speedway Riders Association Awards ceremony in Coventry on Tuesday.

Magnus Zetterstrom and Josh Auty picked up the equivalent awards in the Premier and Conference Leagues.

Crump also collected the Planet Speedway Rider of the Year award and was inducted into the SRA Hall of Fame alongside the now-retired Tony Rickardsson.
