MAGNUS BACK FOR MIDLAND TROPHY

PROUD dad Magnus Karlsson makes a welcome return to the Wolverhampton team for their Midland Trophy tie with Coventry at Monmore Green on Monday.

Karlsson, the youngest of the three racing brothers, became a father for the first time last weekend and was allowed to stay at home in Sweden by the club.

Now he is back to add some much needed strength at reserve for the first leg with the return at Brandon Stadium on Friday (8pm).

Wolverhampton promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''It''s our last home meeting of the season and I expect a good crowd.

''It would be a nice way to bring the curtain down on another thrilling season of racing at Monmore Green with a big home win to take to their place for the return, but it won''t be easy!''

Coventry are searching for a replacement for injured reserve Martin Smolinski with the rules stating they can only use a Second Division rider with an average up to six-points.

The meeting will also feature a special challenge between Honda UK MX rider Charlie Hollis and Wolverhampton''s 1996 world champion Billy Hamill.

WOLVERHAMPTON: Peter Karlsson, Ronnie Correy, Christian Hefenbrock, Billy Hamill, Freddie Lindgren, William Lawson, Magnus Karlsson.
COVENTRY: Scott Nicholls, Billy Janniro, Oliver Allen, Chris Harris, Rory Schlein, Replecement for Martin Smolinski TBA, Troy Batchelor.
