SPEEDWAY 1

POOLE hold the advantage in the Craven Shield Final after a three-point win at Coventry in the first leg, with Eastbourne a futher nine points adrift.

The teams meet again at Eastbourne on Sunday before concluding the competition at Poole on Wednesday.

Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: ''I''m more than happy with the result, but the match is far from over and we will have our work cut out at Eastbourne.''

SPEEDWAY 2

GLASGOW have postponed tomorrow''s Ashfield Classic individual event and re-arranged it for next Sunday, October 29.

The change is due to a rider shortage this weekend and vandalism at the stadium which has damaged track preparation equipment.

Co-promoter Alan Dick said: ''It was felt best to hold things up to ensure that we could get a more exciting field ready to fight it out for the £1000 first prize.''
