SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES - 22ND OCTOBER
22 October 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

MAGNUS Karlsson will return to the Wolverhampton team for their bid to regain the Midland Trophy from local rivals Coventry this week.

Karlsson missed the club''s recent Craven Shield campaign in order to attend the birth of his first child.

Wolves promoter Chris Van Straaten said: ''It would be nice to get a big home win to take to their place for the return, but it won''t be easy.''

SPEEDWAY 2

EXETER promoter David Short has ruled out a return for the Falcons next season - but is confident about their prospects for 2008.

The club left the County Ground at the end of last year and are planning to build a new stadium at Haldon Hill.

Short said: ''We won''t be running next year, although it was getting quite tight for that anyway. I''m confident the track licence will be safe.''
