SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES
20 October 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association

SPEEDWAY 1

SCUNTHORPE co-promoter Rob Godfery insists the Scorpions have not agreed to go to Plymouth for the Conference League Grand Final next Friday.

Plymouth chief Mike Bowden pulled the plug early on tonight''s staging and announced next Friday as the new date.

But Godfery said: ''He''s out of order announcing that date as we have riders unavailable. I want our fans to be aware of that fact.''

SPEEDWAY 2

NEW Eastbourne owner Bob Brimson insists he won''t throw silly money into winter team building to try and buy the title.

Brimson, who takes control from Terry Russell, said: ''I think we will be better next year but Eastbourne have to be realistic.

''There are people in speedway who are willing to do what some people have done in football. That''s throw the kitchen sink at it, very short term thinking.''
