VENHILL TWIST GRIP IS THE CHOICE OF WORLD SPEEDWAY CHAMPION
06 October 2004 - Venhill Engineering Limited
Australian Jason Crump is the 2004 world speedway champion.
The 29-year-old Australian did enough at the final round in Norway on October 2 – a semi-final appearance – to snuff out the stern challenge of arch-rival Tony Rickardsson, becoming just the fourth Australian speedway champion, and the first since Jack Young in 1952. British cable and control specialists Venhill support Crump with their fast action twist grip and featherlight cables, favoured by many top speedway riders. Venhill''s 500A Series Twist Grip has a cast alloy body with quick cable connection facility and cable adjustor. It has a dual action, with both fast and medium settings, it is ideal not only for speedway, but also for MX, enduro and quad racing. Expect to pay £34.99 for the Venhill 500A Series twist grip. Venhill also supply Crump with their renowned Featherlight cables for the throttle and clutch. These British-manufactured items have stainless wire inners with low stiction fittings for a lighter and smoother action combined with incredible longevity. They are even available in a choice of colours to compliment the bike''s paint scheme! Crump also uses a Magura Power Lever for the clutch, supplied by Venhill, which is manufactured from forged aluminium and is “virtually indestructible” - ideal for the rigours of speedway. The retail price is £25.99. Crump is the second Australian to win a world motorcycle championship in 2004, following in the footsteps of Karl Muggeridge, who recently won the Supersport title in road racing.
