POOLE edged through to the Craven Shield Final with a thrilling win over rivals Reading and Swindon at Smallmead.
Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: ''This is a great result for us and our fans as it gives us a great chance of redeeming what has been a poor season for us.
''Now that we are in the final, it would be really pleasing to go all the way and pick up the silverware.''

COVENTRY can look forward to a second Cup Final appearance this season after reaching the Craven Shield Final.
They overcame Belle Vue and Peterborough in the semi-final, finishing second on the night at Kirkmanshulme Lane to protect the lead they took into the meeting.
Bees co-boss Peter Oakes said: ''We were a little sloppy early on and had a team meeting at the halfway stage to remind everyone what we needed to do.''

WOLVERHAMPTON have won the race to sign teenage sensation Tai Woffinden on a full contract.
Woffinden, the son of former rider Rob, has attracted the interest of a host of clubs throughout the year.
