KARLSSON TAKES TITLE PETER Karlsson romped to a full maximum to claim his third Banks''s Olympique title at Wolverhampton. The meeting once again provided plenty of entertaining action for a bumper crowd. Parrys International Wolves skipper Karlsson was in a class of his own, making light of the handicap system, and producing some classy passing manoeuvres on his way to the title. In heat 15, PK off the 20-yard mark, cut inside Jack Hargreaves and Daniel Nermark off the first turn, and gradually reeled in Theo Pijper, before somehow almost finding another gear, to blast past the Dutchman on the back straight of the last lap. Needing only a point from heat 20 to claim victory, the first staging was halted when Kerr fell under pressure form the Swede, but referee Entwistle correctly excluded Redcar''s American. In the re-run, Karlsson quickly picked off Ricky Kling before setting his sights on Adam Shields, squaring off the final bends to cut inside Eastbourne''s Aussie to take the flag. SCORERS: Peter Karlsson 15, Freddie Lindgren 12, Theo Pijper 10, David Howe 10, Christian Hefenbrock 10, Billy Hamill 8, Daniel Nermark 8, Ronnie Correy 8, William Lawson 7, Lewis Bridger 6, Adam Shields 6, Chris Kerr 5, Ricky Kling 4, Kenneth Hansen 3, Claus Vissing 3, Adam Skornicki 2, Jack Hargreaves 2, Tai Woffinden 1.
