WOLVERHAMPTON SPEEDWAY: URGENT UPDATE
16 October 2006 - Wolverhampton Speedway

BANKS''S OLYMPIQUE INDIVIDUAL EVENT
MONMORE GREEN STADIUM, WOLVERHAMPTON
MONDAY OCTOBER 16 - 7.30pm

PIJPER GETS THE CALL!
FLYING Dutchman Theo Pijper has won a late call-up to the prestigious Banks''s Olympique individual event at Wolverhampton''s Monmore Green Stadium tonight (7.30pm).
The Edinburgh Monarchs star has told Wolverhampton bosses he wants to have the chance to impress Elite League promoters as he could be on the way up next season.
He replaces the injured Mark Loram who is having treatment for a knee injury. ''Theo first called me last week to see if I had room in the event because he feels the time is right to look at a move into the Elite League,'' said Wolverhampton owner Chris Van Straaten.
''Now he has his opportunity as he replaces the injured Mark Loram. Mark has had to withdraw today because of a knee injury and he is seeing specialist Brian Simpson to try and sort out the problem as soon as possible.''

*The Banks''s Olympique features a unique handicap racing format. When a rider wins a race, his next race will be off 20-metres. Finish second and the next outing if off 15-metres, third puts you back 10-metres. Therefore, expect plenty of passing on one of the best racetracks in the country!
