13 October 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 COVENTRY co-boss Peter Oakes hopes the Bees can keep their strong home run going in the winner-takes-all Knockout Cup Final against Belle Vue. Their unbeaten home record stretches back to March, and they collected a draw from the away leg against the Aces. Oakes said: ''Our home form has been one of the most pleasing features of the season, although the riders realise that we still have one meeting to win.'' SPEEDWAY 2 SHEFFIELD booked their place in the Premier League Grand Final with a convincing 60-35 win over the Isle of Wight. The Islanders'' Chris Holder equalled the Owlerton track record, but the Tigers were the stronger side and will now face Rye House or King''s Lynn in the Final. Sheffield chief Neil Machin said: ''I''m very proud of the lads, they all did a great job and I''m delighted to get through.''
