Teams and riders using WP Suspension have continued to rack-up some impressive results in several major championships and commit to WP for the 2007 season.

Toseland aiming for second as Charpentier goes for title

With Troy Bayliss confirmed as this years World Superbike Championship the Winston Ten Kate Honda Team using WP suspension hopes to be able to finish the season overall second in the world standings, courtesy of James Toseland. At the Magny Cours circuit Toseland will need to defend and extend his two-point advantage over Noriyuki Haga with a double race win the target.

Meanwhile in the World Supersport Championship it was a Winston Ten Kate Honda one-two at Imola with Sebastien Charpentier and Kenan Sofuoglu taking first and second keeping Charpentier’s championship hopes very much alive while Sofuoglu''s second moves him up to third overall. A slow-starting Charpentier took the new lap record of 1''53.388 on lap five, as he first caught and then passed Curtain, who eventually finished third. After Imola, Curtain now leads Charpentier by 18 points with Sofuoglu third on 137 as the team head to Charpentier’s Magny Cours home track.

‘Perfect’ Pete makes clean sweep of Supersport Cup

Supersport Cup rider Pete Spalding had already wrapped up the 2006 Supersport Cup at the previous British Superbike Championship round at Silverstone so there was little pressure on him as he headed to the final at a wet and wild Brands Hatch. Having already won every race this season he capped it of his perfect record with another convincing victory as well as finishing sixth outright.

The wet conditions caught a couple of the WP Suspension Supersport riders out at the final round of the 2006 season at Brands Hatch. Dennis Hobbs was once again the highest placed WP rider with privateer Pete Spalding in sixth.

Knight finishes ’06 WEC series unbeaten

KTM Enduro Factory Team Farioli rider and ’06 Enduro 3 world champion David Knight put the finishing touches to his incredible season at the eighth and final round of the ’06 WEC series, the GP of France held in Boussac, where he claimed his 15th and 16th Enduro 3 class wins. The E3 winner on both days of every round of this season WEC series Knight brought his season to a close in the only way he knows how - by finishing one minute ahead of his closest rival on day one and 30 seconds ahead on the shortened second day. At the end of the ’06 Enduro 3 world championship, having stood on the top step of the podium no fewer than 16 times, Knight placed 81 points ahead of his nearest championship rival.

Paul Edmondson commits to WP in 07’

Enduro rider Paul Edmondson will be running WP Suspension once again in 2007. Edmondson has just brought his 06’ season to a close on a high having won the REME organized Natterjack Enduro. Already crowned Enduro 2 British Champion at the previous round Edmondson finished ahead of Australian Jake Stapleton on day one and two. While taking advantage of the absence of David Knight he claimed his first BEC double victory of the season.

WP to attend NEC

WP Suspension will be attending the annual NEC International Bike & Scooter Show from the 27th October to the 10th November. There will be several exciting new products launched and the UK’s WP representative Kevin Harris will be available throughout the show to assist with any suspension related enquiries.
