SPEEDWAY 1

GLASGOW retained the Premier League Pairs title on their own track after a hard fought final with Sheffield.

Shane Parker and Danny Bird were pushed all the way by Tigers duo Ricky Ashworth and Ben Wilson.

Newcastle duo Josef Franc and George Stancl got the better of Somerset''s Emil Kramer and Magnus Zetterstrom in the consolation final for third place in front of a good crowd at Ashfield.

SPEEDWAY 2

SCUNTHORPE are through to the Conference League Play-off Final after brushing aside Rye House Raiders.

The Scorpions, in only their second year back in the sport, won the away leg 52-38 and made no mistake with a 62-32 home win. Both Tai Woffinden and Paul Cooper were unbeaten.

They will now face Plymouth, ironically in their first season back in the sport, with the first leg at Scunthorpe this Sunday.
