TOP STARS OF WOMEN’S MOTOCROSS ASSOCIATION TO COMPETE AT TOYOTA AMATEUR ARENACROSS WORLD FINALS

World’s top women motocross racers converge on MGM Grand next weekend (Oct. 13-15) for Toyota Amateur Arenacross World Finals
The action at the 2006 Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open at Las Vegas’ MGM Grand Garden Arena will redline throughout the weekend, culminating on Sunday with some of the world’s top women motocross racers vying for top ranking in the 7th annual Toyota Amateur Arenacross World Finals. “We are thrilled to be racing the Toyota Amateur Arenacross World Finals once again; it is such a unique opportunity to race inside the MGM Grand,” said Women’s Motocross Association President Miki Keller. “The WMA has been working with Live Nation these last two years to promote women’s racing at a number of levels and during this time we’ve seen a dramatic increase in female participation in the sport of motocross.” In its second year associated with the Toyota Amateur Arenacross World Finals, the WMA has also been involved with Toyota AMA Arenacross Series racing at the regional level in the past. The WMA Pro class at the MGM Grand Garden Arena– part of the Rockstar Energy Drink U.S. Open weekend – is an invitation-only event that is based on the final point standings of the AMA/WMA National Championship Series. Leading the women racers at the Toyota Amateur Arenacross World Finals will be Sick Racing’s Lindsey Jelitto and TMX-backed Alisa Nix. Jelitto is the defending champion in the event and Nix finished 2nd in the AMA/WMA National Championship Series. Other racers to keep an eye on included Jessye Davis and Elizabeth Bash – both of whom have some Arenacross racing experience.
