CLIMAX OF SUPERCLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS
06 October 2006 - MotorSport Vision

The New Era Motorcycle Club Superclub season climaxes at Cadwell Park this weekend (7/8 October) and, after a frantic season of racing, the picturesque Lincolnshire circuit will play host to some thrilling championship deciders.

In the Superclub 400 championship Nick Chadwick leads the way on his Kawasaki machine, but Hull’s Richie Welsh has been pushing him all year and will want to finish on a high at his home circuit. Ian Cooper, from Spalding, lies third in the championship ahead of this weekend at Cadwell Park and will be aiming to retain his championship position. He’ll need to get a good result however, as Worksop’s Thomas Bracken and Lincoln’s Phil Creaser will be queuing up to take the advantage away.

In the Newcomers and Clubman of Cadwell Park race, open to a wide range of machines from a Honda 250 to a Suzuki Superbike, Liam Marchant from Market Rasen will be battling to keep Scunthorpe’s Lee Sanderson at bay in the eight-lap dash to the chequered flag.

The Formula 600 race should be hotly contested with the Kawasaki of Mark Cronshaw leading the way but hot on his heels will be Tom Feely, from Grantham, Dave Irons from Lincoln and Paul Mumby-Croft from Grimsby. Meanwhile Market Rasen’s Liam Marchant will want to uphold local honour in the Pro-Bike Open Championship race.

Superkarts will also be out in force this weekend with many of the top competitors returning to the circuit following the British Grand Prix event earlier in the season. Graham Barker will be back in action, the owner of East Coast Carpets in Louth will want to add to his tally of victories including multiple British Championship wins over the years in different classes from 125cc to 250cc machines.

In the same race Grimsby’s Lee Harpham will be Barker’s main rival; after finishing runner up in the 2005 British Championships for F250 National, he currently leads the 2006 series and will be relying on his experience this weekend in his bid to seal the championship.

Tickets for the meeting cost £12 per adult, with children aged 12 and under free.
Practice starts at 9am both days with racing starting after the free practice sessions on both
