NATIONAL BEN DAY ADDED TO ANNUAL CALENDAR OF EVENTS
14 June 2004 - BEN Motor & Alied Trades Benevolent Fund

BEN – Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund – is launching National BEN Day. This brand new initiative has been planned to coincide with the Fund’s birthday on 19 July. The purpose of adding this event to BEN’s calendar is to mobilise employees from across the motoring industries to raise the Fund’s profile and income.

This year the Fund is 99 years old, one year away from its Centenary. It is hoped that this time next year National BEN Day will be firmly established in the minds of every employee, from every sector of the industries BEN encompasses.

The emphasis of the day is to have fun whilst fundraising. With this in mind the Fund is setting every organisation that participates the challenge of raising £99 for 99 years.

So what can you do on National BEN Day? It could be something simple such as a Dress Down Day or something more complex like organising a Fun Run! BEN has put together a tool kit full of fundraising ideas to assist you. If you would like a copy please contact Lucy Killington, BEN Events on 01344 294 755 or email lucy.killington@ben.org.uk

Founded in 1905, BEN is the Motor and Allied Trades Benevolent Fund. Today it provides practical help, support, advice and friendship to more than 15,750 people in their own homes, as well as caring for 350 individuals in the four residential centres and day care centre across the UK.
