SPEEDWAY 1 READING will take a slender 49-47 lead into their Elite League play-off final at Peterborough next Monday. The Bulldogs looked well in control at 37-23 but Panthers boss Trevor Swales used the tactical ride rule to his advantage with two successive 7-2 wins. And in the final race Reading skipper Greg Hancock pulled up with bike problems to gift Hans Andersen and Ryan Sullivan a Peterborough 5-1. SPEEDWAY 2 PETERBOROUGH boss Trevor Swales admits the race for the Elite League title is in the balance. Panthers are two-points behind Reading going into their home leg of the Grand Final next Monday. Swales said: ''It''s amazing the way the meeting went and we managed to pull it back, but Reading are capable of winning at our place. We have to be fully focussed, it could go either way.'' SPEEDWAY 3 MAGNUS Zetterstrom will make an emotional return to the Poole side for their Craven Shield clash with Reading and Swindon at Wimborne Road on Wednesday. Zetterstrom, the new Premier League Riders'' Champion, will deputise for Antonio Lindback. Pirates boss Neil Middleditch said: ''Magnus is flying right now and he always enjoys racing in front of the Poole crowd and his passion for the club will help lift the rest of the side.'' SPEEDWAY 4 PRE-MEETING favourite Lewis Bridger secured the British Under-18 Championship with a full maximum at Wolverhampton. The Eastbourne rider had to come from the back on two occasions but was the fastest competitor on show and deserved his success. Scunthorpe''s Tai Woffinden dropped his only point to Bridger in Heat 11 and therefore finished second overall, with Ben Barker in third place after defeating former Wolf Cub Jack Hargreaves in a run-off, both riders having scored 12 points.
