SPEEDWAY NEWS AND FIXTURES 21.9.04
21 September 2004 - British Speedway Promoters Association

WOLVERHAMPTON will face Ipswich in the semi-final of the Elite League play-offs at Monmore Green next Monday.

The winners will go through to face Poole over two legs to decide the league champions. Wolves, champions two years ago in the first ever play-off competition, demolished a weakened Oxford side 61-33 at Monmore and Ipswich got the better of Eastbourne 55-39 at Foxhall Stadium in the quarter-finals.

IPSWICH star Scott Nicholls believes the Witches have what it takes to win at Wolverhampton and go through to the Elite League play-off finals. He said: ''We''ve done well there in the past and I don''t see any reason why we cannot do it again. ''It''s a track we can all ride well and although it''s going to be tough, we certainly have the ability to win.''
