29 September 2006 - British Speedway Promoters Association
SPEEDWAY 1 SOMERSET boss Mick Bell admitted his side rode their luck in going through to the Knockout Cup Final at the expense of Sheffield. Sheffield saw Kyle Legault blow and engine in the penultimate race and Magnus Zetterstrom dramatically passed Ricky Ashworth to win the tie on the last bend of the last race. Bell said: ''We had some luck but we took it and it''s a great feeling to be through.'' SPEEDWAY 2 BELLE Vue, the holders, raced into the final of the Knockout Cup in a rain-affected semi-final second leg at Poole. The match was called off after heat 12 with Poole leading 43-34 but the Aces went through 87-84 on aggregate. Jubilant team boss Ian Thomas said: ''We''re in one final and can still make another in the Craven Shield in what will be a great end to the season.''
