GUEST APPEARANCE BY JOHN HOPKINS
29 September 2006 - Rizla-Suzuki

Hopkins to star at Brands Hatch BSB finale

Rizla Suzuki MotoGP racer John Hopkins will be making a guest appearance at this weekend’s final British Superbike Championship round at Brands Hatch in England.

Hopkins will demonstrate the awesome power and noise of his Rizla Suzuki GSV-R990 around the 4.18km famous GP circuit as a treat for all the BSB fans. The GSV-R will be the most powerful motorcycle ever to circulate this historic track and could easily set a new lap-record, but Hopkins will just be enjoying displaying the bike’s potential to the watching crowd.

Hopkins will be joining Rizla’s British Superbike team for the first of two runs onboard his GSV-R at 14.50hrs local time (11.50GMT) on Saturday 30th September. He will then give race-day fans another look and listen of the bike on Sunday 1st October at 15.15 local time (14.15GMT), as he blasts his GSV-R around the picturesque British circuit.

Hopkins is currently ninth in the MotoGP World Championship table with two races remaining and he will next be in action alongside team-mate Chris Vermeulen at Estoril in Portugal, on Sunday 15th October.

John Hopkins:

“I am really looking forward to this, it is a pretty big thing for a MotoGP bike to come to Brands Hatch and I am pleased to be riding it. It will be great to go round the GP circuit at Brands and get to show some new fans what a MotoGP bike sounds like. I will also get the chance to catch up with some of my buddies while I’m there, so all-in-all it should be a good day. I’ll put on a show for all the fans so hopefully they’ll want to come and support us at a MotoGP race in the near future.”
