CLOTHING TO COMPLIMENT
29 September 2006 - BMW Motorrad GB

The all-new BMW Motorrad Enduro range

A new range of rider equipment to complement BMW Motorrad’s go-anywhere GS and HP2 enduro machines is now on sale and includes a road-legal, enduro-style helmet with peak and visor, Enduro goggles, a Protector jacket and Enduro shirt.

BMW Motorrad’s new Enduro helmet is designed for on or off-road riders – or even riders with off-road ambitions! The modern, futuristic design and structure of the helmet offers the highest possible degree of protection for the user. A lightweight laminate construction of fibreglass, carbon and KEVLAR® gives the helmet incredibly high tensile strength and excellent crush resistance.

The Enduro helmet features removable and washable head and cheek padding to ensure the product’s longevity, and offer maximum comfort and a secure fit. A steel double D-ring chinstrap with an integrated neckband reduces the possibility of the helmet twisting in the event of an accident. Off-road riding can work up a sweat so ventilation is provided via two adjustable openings in the top of the helmet. In addition, the inner is lined with top-grade DuPont CoolMax® material to ensure moisture wicking and ‘breathing’ capability.

Particular attention has been paid to the Enduro’s aerodynamics. With or without a peak the helmet has outstanding aerodynamic characteristics that help minimise noise and reduce buffeting. The Enduro helmet is available in three configurations to suit a rider’s personal preference: with peak and visor; without peak and with visor; or with peak and without visor.

For those riders choosing to wear the helmet without the visor, the modern and high-tech Enduro goggles are the perfect accessory. The Triflex Supravision® lenses are scratch-resistant on the outside (easily deflecting those loose bits of mud and stone) and anti-fogging on the inside. Ventilation foam at the top and bottom of the injection-moulded frame and an adjustable elasticated head strap ensure a comfortable fit.

BMW Motorrad has also developed the ultimate protection for off-road riders. The Protector Jacket is a breathable, elastic mesh jacket with DuPont CoolMax® technology that has been specifically designed for off-road riding and competition. The jacket integrates the award-winning BMW Motorrad Back Protector 2, which is one of the only products on the market to have gained EN 1621-2 protection grading. The jacket also offers the highest level of protection for the back, shoulders, elbows, upper arms, collarbone, chest, ribs and kidneys.

To complete the look, the 2006 Rider Equipment range includes the fast drying, all-weather, Enduro shirt, which fits perfectly over the Protector Jacket. Air-permeable with elasticated sleeves, the practical and stylish shirt comes in an anthracite colour scheme and incorporates BMW Motorrad and HP2 logos. The shirt retails at £35 and sizes range from S-XXXL.

The Enduro helmet comes in seven different colour schemes – four patterned and three with a plain paint finish – and is available in sizes 53/54-63/64 (larger sizes will be in dealerships from November 2006). It is priced at £255 for the patterned helmets and £235 for the one-colour helmets. The one-size Enduro goggles are available in anthracite-blue and are priced at £65. The Protector Jacket comes in a black and grey colour scheme in sizes S-XXL. It is priced at £200.
