Elite League: POOLE 59 WOLVES 34 PETER Karlsson was forced to pull out after two rides as the Parrys International Wolves ended their Elite League campaign with a defeat at Poole. Karlsson was struggling with his knee injury at Wimborne Road, and with nothing resting on the fixture he elected to withdraw rather than risk further damage. The Pirates coped well with rider replacement for their own injury absentee, Antonio Lindback, and were always in control of the meeting. Wolves were eight points down when Karlsson withdrew, and they conceded further maximums in Heats 7 and 11, their only real response coming when Fredrik Lindgren overtook Greg Walasek on the third lap for double points as a tactical ride in Heat 9. Lindgren was the Wolves'' rider of the night by some distance, with Billy Hamill the only other race winner for the Monmore men. The American, however, could not repeat the feat in his tactical ride in Heat 14 and then retired early in the last race as the Pirates finished with two 5-1s to also comfortably take the aggregate bonus point. Wolves finish their Elite League fixtures in sixth place with 52 points, one point and one place ahead of Poole. They now prepare for the Craven Shield semi-final against Eastbourne and Ipswich - both of whom have finished below Wolves in the table. POOLE: Krzysztof Kasprzak 15+2, Bjarne Pedersen 14+2, Jonas Davidsson 11+2, Craig Boyce 9+1, Grzegorz Walasek 7+1, Matthew Wethers 3, Antonio Lindback r/r. WOLVES: Fredrik Lindgren 14, Billy Hamill 6+1, Ronnie Correy 4+1, William Lawson 4, Christian Hefenbrock 3+1, Peter Karlsson 3, Mathieu Tresarrieu 0.
